Streaming / Casting Question - Tab 3

I have a P5210 Tab 3 10.1

All I want to do is able to watch movies by streaming them to a TV - either directly from the site or saved movies stored to my device.

My TV is not enabled to ping the information too so I am looking at other options, before I buy one I need to know they will work as I found info on Google which seems to state that as the Tab 3 has an intel chip it cannot cast. Is that correct? So if I purchased a Chromecast or Miraacast, I could not stream a movie via WiFi to it?

How about purchasing a HDMi cable that plugs directly to my TV - will that work? Do you need MHL?

All a bit confusing and I dont want to waste my money on something that does not work.

Many thanks

Re: Streaming / Casting Question - Tab 3

Welcome to Android Central! The Tab 3 10.1 does support MHL, so you could connect it using a compatible MHL adapter to the HDMI input of your TV. It also supports Miracast, but this requires a TV that is also Miracast compatible, and those aren't too common. A Chromecast would be a reliable option, because it just requires your tablet to be connected to your home wi-fi network. You can easily cast a movie from a Chromecast compatible app from your tablet to the TV via wi-fi.
