Does my Galaxy S charge when it's on?

battery charge

does the samsung galaxy s charge when it's on? I have a red x on my battery meter in the upper right corner of the tab when it's plugged in and i'm using it.

Welcome to Android Central! The X usually means that the battery is not getting an optimal current. This can happen if it's plugged into a computer USB port (which supplies much less current than a wall outlet), or if the cable or wall charger plug is faulty. Try a different cable/plug, and make sure you're using a wall outlet.

I am using the original power cord that came with it, In an outlet, could the cord be faulty?

Sure--cables or wall charger plugs can become faulty. Try different ones.
