I installed Lollipop on my Moto G and my screen is now blank on boot, what do i do?

Alright, everything worked great until i updated my old android to Lollipop, i turned my brightness down a bit and my screen went black, I can't do anything. When i reboot i see the android animation which lasts about 30 seconds..ish, and when I am supposed to see my lock screen I get a black screen. I tried rebooting it 5 times and the second time i rebooted my phone , a notification popped up saying that an app is being updated but after 3 seconds my screen went black again. The phone even became hot!

It's possible that the update and the display problem are no more than coincidental. Battery failure may be the cause of the trouble.

But if you establish that the battery is good, and can boot into Recovery, try a Cache Partition wipe. If no good, a Factory Reset may be necessary, which will cause the loss of all personal data not backed up.

Maybe you just have to set the brightness higher. Give it a try. Take a look at this other thread.
