New Motorola Luge -- Why doesn't my home button work?

I just received and activated my Motorola Luge today. I've yet to install any apps but I've noticed while navigating that my home button responds to being tapped, but doesn't actually do anything. I've power cycled but nothing has worked to resolve my issue. So far, Verizon techs have been inconclusive in support. Any ideas?

Welcome to Android Central! So if you're in an app and then press Home, you feel it vibrate, but it doesn't go back to the homescreen? I'd return the phone and ask for an exchange, since you just got it. It isn't worth investigating for too long, or else the window for a quick exchange will close.

Just purchased the Luge today, having the same issue--- the home button has zero functionality. Obviously this is a problem across the whole device line, what's up with this???

Having the same exact issue with my 2nd brand new luge. Returned the first one to Best Buy and the replacement is having the exact same issue.

Well by reflashing to factory a couple times, it finally corrected the problem.
