I have a Nexus7 2013 wifi Android version 4.4.4. I rooted it with "Towelroot" in 2014 now I have a system upgrade available to 5.0.2 I have tried the upgrade twice and both times an error message came. Any suggestions to overcome this and ugrade would be appreciated. I do not want to try another normal upgrade as I don't want the possibility of the machine locking. Thanks.

Welcome to the forums. You would have to unroot, then accept the OTA. I am not familiar with Towelroot other than it exists, but if there is a Towelroot app, I would check within there to see if there is an unroot option. Once you unroot, you cannot use Towelroot again, as it roots at the kernel level, and anything after June 2nd, it will not work.
