How do I get my Gmail and RoadRunner account to recognize my address book contacts?

AC Question

Importing/recognizing contacts for Google Nexus 10

I exported my outlook address book to a .csv file and transferred the file to the tablet's internal storage (at the root level, not in any DCIM, Data, Downloads, etc.. folder).

How do I get my GMail & RoadRunner accounts to recognize the address book contacts? GMail Help says to go to the upper left corner, press Menu (there is none) and import the file.

I tried composing an email, but the email address was not auto-filled as expected. Thank you.

Re: Importing/recognizing contacts for Google Nexus 10

Menu is 3 horizontal bars, one on top of the other.

For the email program to recognoize the contacts, though, you have to import them to Contacts, not to Gmail. (Same thing, but at Google Contacts - More/Import.)
