Why isn't the my battery of Moto G Gen 2 getting charged?

its dead now so i cannot verify any of that sort

First, check the wall socket, charger, USB lead, USB port, and battery, one by one.

Welcome to Android Central! And try a different USB charger and/or wall charger plug. Let it sit on a wall outlet for at least 4 hours before trying to power it on again.
