why phone icon doesnt show nr of missed calls?

Same for SMS, mail etc...
sorry I come from iphone, but I'm shocked that there is NO way to check in a normal way what's going on. Yes I can scroll down to see ALL notifications, but it's such a mess...
when I switch on my Motorolo G2, I want to see immediately if i got an SMS or missed phone call. All mobile phones I got the last 20 years did that.
I must say I tried Go Notifications, but the number of missed calls, emails.... is wrong. WHen I receive 3 new email msgs, I see for eample '14' on my email icon.

Please help me, I may be missing something, but that is the very first necessity of a phone I think.

You could try Nova and their unread count app.

I usually don't miss a lot of messages or calls, but as I recall, when I pull down the shade, if I have multiple messages, they are separated by a comma.
