downloaded sftwr update for s5. when restarting was done, lost internet connectivity

i downloaded the software update over wifi and upon restarting have lost my internet data connection. all was working fine before the update.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you talking about the wi-fi or mobile data connection? If it's wi-fi, go to Settings>Wi-fi, tap Menu>Advanced,​ and turn off Smart Network Switch.
