How do I get authorization to transfer documents from my laptop unto my 64g micro chip?

I have a Samsung 64g micro chip for my Samsung Galaxy 12" Tablet. Whenever I try to transfer documents unto the chip from my laptop, I get a message telling me that I need "authorization" in order to transfer.

How are you accessing the storage, is it in an SD card slot in the laptop or is it plugged into the phone and the phone is connected to the laptop through USB?

If it's in an SD slot on the laptop, is the laptop yours or company-owned? Some companies will put blocks in place to prevent copying data from work resources to possibly give to someone that shouldn't have it.
