    I dropped in the water w/ a case on it and the screen is completely black but i can still hear sounds like receiving messages, unlocking the screen, and adjusting the volume. I would really like some help on specific parts I might need to replace because I don't have insurance and the cheaper the better so my mom doesn't kill me.

    It's not possible to diagnose at a distance I'm afraid, but there wouldn't be much point because the problem is likely to be more than can be fixed by simply replacing parts. Internal corrosion damage is likely to be progressive over time. Read Rukbat's article:

    If water did NOT get into the phone, or at least only minimally, you may just be lucky....I guess that it's possible that the phone may have been damaged by impact rather than water. But I think it would be best to take it to a repair shop for diagnosis.

    (Your mom will not kill you. Phones are only things, which are not important. Loved ones, human and animal, are what matter.)
