Accurate solution for IndexService battery drain on Galaxy Note 4 ( Verizon )?

A

AC Question

The IndexService aspect of Android 4.4.4 on my Galaxy Note 4 ( Verizon ) is draining my battery much worse than even the screen does. Many of the online forums talk about changing / reformatting your SD card. I have done that and it does not appear to resolve the problem. Is there a formal answer to this from either Google or Samsung?

I had Note 4 since Jan 2015 and only 2 days ago I noticed ultra-fast battery drain caused by IndexService. Unfortunately Disable button is disabled so every phone restart (or triggered by some other app) would cause battery drain. I raised this with Samsung support (Australia) and they are aware of that issue, however they couldnt tell when (and if) will this be fixed. Unfortunately no other apps eg Advance Taks Killer nor Battery Doctor helped as there is no way to kill the "system app". I do not want to root my phone.
