Why does my phone say enter SIM card if it's already there?

why does my phone say enter SIM card if it's already there.

Three days ago i started seeing that the SIM card was not inserted,which it was.i checked out the problem and it was there, placed the right way then i took it out to re-do it and it still said enter SIM card. i called the verizon store but they just said place it back in and then restart your phone, i did that and it ddn't work. it only say to enter the SIM card back in if you have it a certin way. i have had my galaxy s4 mini for almost a year.

Welcome to Android Central! It could be a faulty SIM card, so getting a replacement would be worth trying. If that doesn't work, then it may be a problem with the SIM slot, which is a bigger issue--you'd have to contact Samsung. Is the phone still under warranty?
