Hey everyone

I've just received my Nexus 6 in the last few days and like everyone else in the world I'm looking to get the longest/best battery life possible.
In my recent reading I've heard about battery calibration and charging around the 40% mark as ways to keep the battery in top condition for as long as possible.
Would anyone be kind enough to explain what these things are and why they are so important?

Sorry if I'm asking a question that's been asked a million times before

"Battery calibration":

The phone keeps a record in a file of what apps are using what percentage of power. "Calibration" calibrates that file, it has nothing to do with anything other than what you see on the screen. Calibrating it every day and never calibrating it will give you the same battery life.

Charging at 40% (50% is actually the ideal point, but never let it drop below 40%) will give you the maximum total amount of power drawn from the battery over its lifespan, as you can figure out from the first chart (after the graph) in B. Diddy's second link..
