Why does my battery die at about 45 all of a sudden?

my battery dies at about 45% all of a sudden

I have the HTC one mini.the battery icon shows that I have about 45% left but as soon as I start to listen to music it just suddenly dies?
Any help please??

Sounds like a dendrite. (Search lithium battery dendrite and you'll learn more than you want to know about the problem.) About the only solution at this time is replacing the battery.

It could be a failing battery - the One has been out long enough that if you've been really mistreating it badly (getting the last ounce of juice out of it before charging it, using it when the battery is below zero degrees, that sort of thing), you can kill a battery in 6 months. The remedy would still be to replace the battery (and treat it properly thins time - don't let it fall below 40%, or get colder than you're comfortable at when you're wearing a sweater).
