Why isn't my Quick Remote working??

A month ago, my Quick Remote was working fine, I can even use it from a distance or any T.V that it offers. Recently, whenever I use my Quick Remote, it doesn't work anymore, I even tried pointing it at a very close range. Any button doesn't work, but if I click the Volume Up button and when the volume for the phone (the one with the Telephone symbol not the Musical note symbol) shows up and made a sound, that's when the Quick Remote starts to work. Any solutions for this? Is the problem permanent or can it be repaired? My phone is a LG G Pro D686, it's like 3-4 years since I bought it.
