What is the difference of the various choices on my HTC One M8?

HTC One M8 - email account settings - Sync, Send & Receive

Under Sync, Send & Receive > Sync Settings > Download Options - what is the significance of the various choices - Today's, 3 days, 7 days etc.... Do they have an effect on the speed of collection or what?

Welcome to Android Central! I would guess that's how many days of emails will download to the phone for offline access. If you're running low on storage space, you'd probably want to use an option for fewer days.
