Went to Maplins and they advised me to download Firmware v2.0.8 again and see if it made a difference. This is the second tablet from Whitebox I'm now thinking you get what you pay for. Can anybody help. The tablet was made in China that's all I know.

Welcome to Android Central! You definitely get what you pay for. Off-brand or no-name devices are much more likely to have faulty hardware or software.

There was actually a firmware update to install on this tablet? That's surprising, because updates have to come from the manufacturer. Does the tablet have any brand name at all?

In the meantime, review this guide: http://forums.androidcentral.com/amb...-problems.html

I will check review. No there is no name. Polaris_eng 4.2.2 is the only other name I found. Whitebox changed my first one for this very reason and it worked for two months. It has not worked now for over a month. Maplins Electronics suggested going back a version then coming forwards but nevr found where to pick up Firmware.

Just read the review and when I turn on Wifi there are no choices. Just in the middle of screen 'Turning Wi-Fi on...'
