Need to Retain Old Email When Migrating to a New Server

Running on a Galaxy S5. We are migrating our email address to a new hosting provider. When the phone is set up to connect with the new server settings, all the old emails that reside on the old server disappear from the phone. If the phone is changed to connect back to the old server settings, the new emails on the phone disappear, and the old emails come back.

Is there any way to override this behavior? There are emails on the old server that need to be retained, and forwarding them to myself isn't an option because we need to retain the original sent time&date.

Re: Need to Retain Old Email When Migrating to a New Server

Migrating the email to th new server is the job of the person who's doing the change - the email administrator. It has to be done on the servers. If they choose to not migrate the old emails ovr, there's nothing you can do. (Except, maybe, let whoever is in charge, that the company is going to be in trouble if it loses all its old emails.)

How it's done depends on what email server the old system run on and what system the new one is running on. Some can archive everything on the old server, them import the archive on the new server. But that's the email admin's problem, not yours.
