Hello. It's probably all about what help facilities are being used in the keyboard settings, so knowing your device and keyboard will help.

I ultimately still don't like typing on a touch screen, and I have quite a large Samsung Note 3 screen. I do find though with word prediction and the learning program on the SwiftKey keyboard, I prefer to reply to forums on my phone keyboard than the website on my pc.
I am a godawful typist though.

So it depends on the size of your screen, the keyboard layout (changeable on some) and the way the keyboard is set to replace or suggest words or not.
You may also have an issue with the screen response over the keyboard if you have a case magnet or other issue.

I hated my stock Samsung keyboard btw, so it's worth trying another keyboard even though they take a (short) while again to learn from you.

Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried using a keyboard that allows you to swipe through letters, instead of tap? That may help to reduce your typo rate. Most stock keyboards have this option, and so does Google Keyboard. You could also install Swiftkey or Swype.
