Ultimately I am trying to recover deleted SMS from HTC One S.
Bought a data recovery program Dr Fone (MobileGo) that needs the phone to be rooted to do so.
If I root the device, will it perform a factory reset and delete / wipe all data?
I read on some other forums that the factory reset during root leaves the SD card partition in tact?
