I tried to follow the instructions, and press always, but it still happens. Then it says the clear defaults by going to Settings>Applications>Defaults applications and tapping clear, but that does not exist now since the new update. I tried downloading a new launcher, Nova, and now it asks me whether I want to use Nova as home. I have read suggestions to uninstall the google search update, but I can't even find google search in my applications menu. How to I make this prompt stop popping up?

If you want to try uninstalling the update, uninstall it from the Google app in your applications manager.

You may have a particular issue with Lollipop, but there are several ways to usually stop pop-ups, whether you want TW Home or Nova.

I tried doing a system reset, and I still have the same problem.
All of my menus look totally different than yours...mine updated to Lollipop on March 6. I don't have an option to clear defaults, there is no default selected, and even when I select "Always" to set Nova as my home, it says to go to to Settings>Applications> and to set defaults.

Thanks for registering. Have a search or start a thread in the Samsung S5 forum.
There were a few issues, such as the mute functions. You should get help there. Mine was a Note 3, sorry, older Touchwiz but I thought Applications Manager would be the same. An update may be on the way.

I thought I was starting a thread? What do I need to do differently?

FYI - I think I may have discovered the problem. Nova notified me that my "Connect for Hotmail" App contained "meta-data" which can cause the launcher to be frequently reset, leading the prompt. I uninstalled "Connect for Hotmail" and haven't had the prompt pop up yet.

There you go. Good find. There were a several threads on this pop up in the Note 3 forum last year.

Regarding your other post - this is a recent ask a question forum where you get one or two responders who move on to answer other questions. Many questioning don't respond or register to continue.

You avail better from the experience of other device users who have similar problems with a thread in that specific forum. Some threads grow a life of their own and become huge.

    Enjoy the forums.
