Having installed a 64GB nano SD it first recognised it OK and taken a few photos a few days later it cant read the photos from SD or even acknowledge it being there. Im just given the option to mount the SD. Then bought a second one (both good makes) and the same thing happens! I love my HTC but this is nuts!
Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Are you sure it's a nanoSD, or is it a more conventional microSD? I don't think there are any HTC phones that use nanoSD cards.
What brand card is it? Where did you get it? Off-brand cards and cards purchased from random sellers on eBay (for example) are more liable to be defective or counterfeit, and therefore more prone to file corruption. Run SD Insight to see if the card is what it says it is.
