I dropped my phone today. NO physical damage whatsoever, but the display on it is completely messed up. There are colored lines all on the left side of the screen and like a black bar along almost half the bottom of the screen. The touch screen is still fully functional, but it difficult to read anything on the bottom half on the phone.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? The impact of a phone hitting a hard surface can send shock waves through the internal components, which can potentially loosen connections or damage components. You don't have to see any physical damage on the outside.

Is it still under warranty? If so, you could always try sending it to the manufacturer for repair. If they don't see any sign of physical damage on the outside, they might go ahead and cover it. But if there's anything they see that suggests it was dropped, they'll probably deny the claim.
