Why can't my orientation change but gyroscope is working?

So, I have a couple of apps to check my sensors. I notice on two of them, there is a response to me moving my phone. I also tried playing a game (Doodle Jump) but the game does not work. I then tried the new interactive VR YouTube video (Time Couch) and it seems I can look left and right in landscape mode, but not up and down. So I don't know why it chooses to work on somethings, but then when I really need it to work, it does not. I just want to be able to change my orientation on some apps! I've been searching for this for hours each day and I can't take it anymore.

I am using a rooted LG G2 (AT&T) with the Cyanogenmod Snapshot 11 Stable.

Some apps allow rotation, some allow only some rotations, some don't allow any. Email the app developer if you want the app to be able to rotate or rotate differently than it does.
