The home button doesn't work on my phone. What do I do?

AC Question

About 6 months ago, I got the Droid MAXX and after a few months I barely dropped in and the screen practically shattered. For Christmas, I got the Early Edge upgrade and just today, a little crack showed up on my phone without being dropped and now the home, recent apps, and back buttons do not work. What do I do?

Welcome to Android Central! The phone is still under warranty, so you could try contacting Motorola for warranty repair. You should try talking to someone live to see what your chances of success are, since it's hard to prove that any crack in the screen was spontaneous, and not due to some kind of trauma.

A workaround is to try Handy Soft Keys.

In the future, I would suggest two things--(1) always use a case, and (2) strongly consider phone insurance.
