My battery was at 93% and I plugged it into my car charger to top it off before going into work. Less than a half a mile later, my battery was at 100%. It has never charged this fast before.

Now that I think about it - my battery has been fluctuating; some days it drains faster than normal and other days it drains as it did before the upgrade to 5.0; I don't have any applications running in the background (I checked the applications running and battery info screen). I have the samsung galaxy s5. Thanks!

Sounds like the phone just wasn't reading the battery right. There isn't charging that fast .

7% in 5 minutes would be 80 minutes for a full charge, which is slower than 1C (the maximum recommended charge rate). 7% in 1 minute would be a 4C charge - which would damage the battery (and even in 1 minute, the battery would get pretty hot). I'd say Almeuit is right, and either the battery is flaky or you should condition it. (The Care and Feeding of Lithium Polymer Batteries)
