Can I add events or reminders to my android phone by email?

Hi,

Is there an application where you can send an email, say from a desktop PC, to set a reminder on your android phone?

I am thinking it would be much easier to enter the details (time, venue, description, repeat, duration, etc.) in an email and send to “an email address” to get reminders with details on the phone. Even adding events on the calendar using email would be nice.

Welcome to Android Central! I suggest using Google Tasks. In your Gmail interface on the computer browser, click on the "Gmail" at the upper left, right under the Google logo. Select Tasks in the dropdown menu. You should see the Tasks window pop up at the lower right of the screen. You can enter tasks or reminders here, and associate them with a date. These tasks will then show up in their own Tasks calendar in your Google Calendar. There are some good 3rd party apps that sync with Google Tasks--I use Tasks, the paid version of Tasks Free, which works very well.
