Says android 5.0.1. Yesterday 3/25/15 phone alerted I had a new update. It said it wouldn't delete any files as any other update I had done in the past. Yet after the update I tried to access my private photos and they don't show up anymore. Does any1 know. How I can get them back if possible? Thanks

Same thing happened to me. The files are still in my memory they are just encrypted somehow... I hope someone figures out how to get them back functional.

I've tried looking for them in my files but I can't seem to find them. How would they be named?

I don't remember doing anything before the update. So I'm assuming no? . How would I do that for next time?

You back up anything you don't want to lose to another device (PC, laptop) or a cloud account - or both (or a few cloud accounts - there are enough free ones that you can back up your entire life and have space left over).

There's an old computer saying, "any files you don't have backed up are files you don't need".

How about rather than telling me to "backup" we find a fix for the problem?
