My phone was rooted, I was trying to unroot it to return it. I tried using es file explorer to auto install to sd card, then uninstalled es file explorer.

Reinstall ES File Explorer and move the apps back to the phone. Apps "installed " to the SD card are installed to the phone, then chunks are moved to the SD card, the same as if you had done it manually. Any apps that have to be on the phone when you return it have to be on the phone, not "on" the SD card.

THEN use SuperSU to unroot the phone. (If you unrooted it, you may have to root it first, then move the apps, then unroot it.) Depending on why you're returning it, that might not be enough, since there are still signs that the phone has been rooted, if they look carefully enough. Reflashing the stock ROM will make it look stock.
