A new wifi icon has appeared at the top of my phone. Never seen it before. It's a wifi signal icon with a phone icon below it. I rang my network provider but they were no help. Does anyone know what it could be? Any help appreciated. Thanks

Hello. I answered a similar post to this a short time ago. I speculated that it might represent WiFi calling and texting, in the absence of a network signal.

I stumbled across this thread while googling the same icon! How do I switch it off?

I've never seen it before and this is the only place I have found any info about it. I asked EE but they dont seem to know either!

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

    Welcome to Android Central.

Well, if it is a Wifi-calling-and-texting icon, you ought to have a corresponding app on the phone. In that case you'd just open the app and turn it off from there. But if you haven't, and EE know nothing about it, it must be something else.
Pulling down the notification screen reveals nothing?
