Google now launcher not working

Hey guys, got a problem with my S5. I recently got the oc4 update from Verizon. Following the update, everything seemed fine. On the same day, I enabled 2 factor authentication. I use the Google now launcher. The problem is the google now launcher search doesn't work. That also means the voice search doesn't work. Basically, it looks like the search completes, but the screen is empty. Anyone face a similar issue?

Have you checked the settings to make sure something was disabled. If you did a major OS update, you should consider doing a hard reset and starting from a fresh build. It tends to eliminate many problems caused by upgrades.

Yeah, I was hoping to avoid the hard reset, but it looks to be unavoidable. I noticed someone else had a similar problem that was never resolved.
