Google Play Services and GPS error

[AC Question]

I've noticed other people have had issues with their Google Play services. I am getting the notification that "An application requires an update". When I click on it, it tries to bring me to Google Play but all I get is a white screen. Same result when I try to get to Google Play through my Apps screen. Also.. my GPS does not locate at all (with wifi, without).
