Should I replace my cracked phone screen?

A

AC Question

My phone has a very minor crack on the screen (about 1/6 of the screen is cracked) so I was thinking about replacing the screen. I was very keen at first being the screens costing $10, but after some research, I found out my phone uses Corning Gorilla Glass.

Should I buy glass screens off Ebay, or will they crack even more often. Thanks :)

It depends on your phone - it may be easier to repair if you purchase a display and glass together. Some are easier to repair than others but many phones are now made with the display bonded to the glass.

And yes, it's best to purchase Corning glass displays. They cost more but are a higher quality - as in many other things in life, you get what you pay for. If you go cheap, usually you get poor quality. If you pay for quality, chances are you'll be happier in the long run.

Good luck! Make sure you do plenty of research on how to do it before cracking open your phone!
