New to Micro SD Cards, need help.

AC Question

So I recently started to actually use my Samsung Galaxy S4 to watch movies, store all my music along with some pictures and I started to run out of space so I bought a Samsung Galaxy Evo 64GB micro sd. I'm new to adding an external memory but is there something specific that I have to do? Like do I need to format it? Or can I just start using it by transferring all my files to it?

Also, does anyone know how to test if it's authentic? Just asking because I bought it through Amazon and I noticed some reviews that mentioned people getting fake ones.

Thanks in advance

Run SD Insight. If it's not 64GB, or if it was manufactured in 1970 (or some other ridiculous date), you'll know you have a fake. Otherwise, it's most likely real.

It should already be formatted as exFAT, so it should work as soon as you plug it in (power off and battery out, just in case). Most of the fake ones seem to be SanDisk. Why counterfeit the number 2 brand when you can just as easily counterfeit the number 1 brand?
