Why does my Moto X keep saying messages not sent?

Moto X keeps saying messages not sent

When I use my Moto X stock messaging, on the notification bar at the top it says 2 messages not sent even though my messages are going through just fine. I delete it and it will come back even if I just open my messaging. I have tried deleting all of my texts and rebooting my phone. I don't know what else to try.

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to Settings>Apps>All, select Messaging, and Clear Cache/Clear Data, then Force Stop. If that doesn't work, then contact your carrier and see if something is stuck on the server side.
