Disable automatic rerouting on Google maps

Recently I used nexus 5 to navigate in interior of Southern Karnatka and I wanted directions from Ramnathapura to Hassan and the Navigation said some 55 Km and some 1 hr 20minutes there was a time lag between Map updating it's location and it seems I missed a turn and the maps rerouted my directions and it was harrowing time on the worst possible roads and took me nearly 4 hoursfor this distance in the dark. Is there an option to disable automatic rerouting so Maps can us to go back to the place where we made the wrong turn. Incidentally I find Google maps has a problem while reporting direction in the NH4 between Bengaluru and Tumkur
