AC Question

I need to use it to take photos of nameplate data of pumps and fans. Are there tricks to do this well and easily?

Also read some of Kodak's free guides to photography. What was true before World War 2 is still true today in many cases. Depth of field is physics and hasn't changed. The Rule of Thirds is psychology of sight, and hasn't changed. There are tons of guides and they're online for free reading.

Also use Ansel Adams' trick (he's probably the greatest American photographer of all times - other than Dorothea Lange) - the more pictures you take, the better your chance of taking a great picture. He used glass plates (which took a long time to prepare, then to develop and print), not memory in the phone, which is free, and he'd take 100 shots just to get one good one. Not everyone has the eye of a Dorothea Lange - the ability to see a great shot any time there was one. (Look up some of her pictures and you'll see what I mean.)
