Why did my Comcast POP3 account no longer connect after the upgrade to 5.01 last week?

I have an LG G3 and it has been set up and working for 6 months. After the most recent upgrade to 5.01 (23C) on 4/18, my POP3 account no longer works, but my Outlook.com exchange server still works. I deleted the account and used wizard to re-enter, but with my email address and my password (only) entered, the phone would not connect to my Comcast account. Using my PC, I validated that email is still working into my Outlook mailbox (both accounts), and I browsed to Comcast and validated that my password is still good.
