Lenovo TAB S8-50 how do I get the File Browser screen to auto rotate to portrait?

When I touch the File Browser folder it opens with the screen rotating to landscape and will not rotate to portrait. I have set the rotate option to ON in Settings. I have turned the rotate option ON and Off and back to ON and I have reset the tablet, its new, to no avail. I have turned the tablet off over night, back on in the morning...File Browser screen still in landscape.

Welcome to Android Central! Some apps are designed only to be in one orientation--it may be that the Lenovo stock file manager is designed only for landscape.

I have the Lenovo A10 Tablet which has the same app and it supports both portrait and landscape mode. Maybe Lenovo decided the 8 inch tab didn't require landscape mode, but it seems strange they would do this.
