    I typically use my fingerprints to unlock my phone, however today I got a message saying the scanner is not responding and to use the backup password to unlock. The problem is I have tried every possible password I can think of to no avail. I have tried using Android Device Manager but it only allows you to set a password, not change it. There is no unlock with google option after 5 wrong attempts like I have seen on similar threads. Is there any way I can unlock it without a factory reset?

    Welcome to Android Central! When you set up fingerprint unlock initially, it should have asked you to select a backup password for just this contingency. It's not supposed to let you proceed with fingerprint unlock unless you select that backup. Think hard--do you remember what that could have been?
