S5 doesn't make calls or texts on Virgin

[AC Question]

I bought a Samsung S5 phone off somebody from gumtree but can't get it to make calls or texts. It has full signal and the SIM works fine and I think it is unlocked. I am with Virgin and apparently it works on O2 and another network which I forgot. The internet works on the SIM and WIFI too. I tried updating it with the latest relevant software and did factory reset but still no luck. Any ideas on what might be wrong?

I'd suggest contacting Virgin and checking to see if the device is supported. If it is, it may need to be unlocked and the appropriate APN settings inputted to work with the network.
