Why wont my Nexus charge or turn on?

I have had my Nexus on the charger for 2 days and it will not turn on and the battery symbol will not even show on the screen so i do not think that it is charging.

Quite probably. Assuming that the wall socket is good, the fault must lie with the charger, USB lead, USB port, battery, or other. You'll have to eliminate them one by one.
