Why does my phone somwtimes not alert me when I get calls or voicemails or show up in my call logs?

My phone will randomly not notify me when someone is calling and it wont show up in my call logs at all or untill the next day. Also it wont notify me then like 20-30 minutes later I'll get the voicemail(s). Please help me this is so frustrating.

Welcome to Android Central! How is your reception in general? If it's borderline, that might cause you to miss calls that then go straight to voicemail.

I would also contact the carrier and discuss the issue with them.
