Is there a way to have my Galaxy S6 only remind me once that I have a new message or text?

I'm getting notifications that I have a new email or text message & have it set to remind me. Is there a way to have the phone only remind me once? Instead of every couple of minutes until I view it?

Welcome to the forums! Reminding you? As in it makes an audible sound to tell you that you have a notification? It shouldn't be doing that more than once. It'll just show the notification and ring once, and then the notification will stay there until you dismiss it

Under settings, there is a repeat alert and you can turn that off. If that is set, it will keep reminding you until you deal with the text.

Yup it does! Ask me something Samsung and I can answer almost any question, other phone specific stuff.. Not so sure lol
