How can I make my S6 Edge not fast charge?

I have a Verizon Galaxy S6 Edge which I bought three weeks ago. It came with a fast charger. According to the manual, it's supposed to only fast charge when the screen is off. Mine fast charges whenever I plug the charger in, even if I'm in the middle of running an app or talking on the phone. I've always understood that slow charging is better for the overall life of the battery than fast charging. Is there any way to tell the phone to slow charge? I've looked in all the settings and can't find anything. Thanks!

I don't think you can disable it.

My suggestion is to just use a non fast charging charger.

you cannot disable the fast charging.

you can either just use a smaller power brick or use wireless charging but if you are you using the supplied wall charger and cable i would not worry too much.
