Samsung Note 4 - Default Email App Issue

A

AC Question

I'm having an issue with the default mail app installed on my Samsung Note 4. My work uses a POP3 email service, and all in all the default app works well. The issue I am having is primarily cosmetic.

When I have cleared the inbox on my mobile device, the inbox tab will still display unread mail in the inbox. I have tried clearing the cache for the app, and outright clearing the data and restarting but the issue has persisted.

It perpetually displays four emails in the inbox. New mail will increase that number, and when they are deleted it will go back down to four.

Use an email program on a computer that can sort by read and unread (like Thunderbird). Sort that way, then look at the top or the bottom of the list for the 4 unread emails (that might be years old and won't show on the phone) and mark them read or delete them. Your webmail access may also let you sort that way.
