Why is my Galaxy Tab 3 battery draining extrememly fast?!?

I've had this tablet since it came out about a year ago. The battery would run and lost for quite some time. But for the past month or so it drain MUCH faster than usual. Example: It'll be at 100% but after using one app on power saving mode, within less than half an hour, it'll be below 30%. It also charges very quickly. Is there something wrong with the capacitor or is it the battery?

Have you tried rooting it? I've got the same tab as you and that's what I attempted to do.

I tried (failed). Now there are massive inconsistencies with charging and battery life.
