How to restore full touch to my screen when only part is responding?

Only a certain section of the screen is responding to touch, not other areas which is making it difficult to use.

If it's a bad connection in the screen connector, by having the cable unplugged and having the connector cleaned.

If it's a bad digitizer, by having the digitizer replaced.
