Does Android OS support blank APN feature?

I have a scenario where my carrier auto corrects the APN requested by the Mobile Terminal when i set a blank APN or empty APN. Does android currently support this and is there any documentation related to this? i have searched and still i get no clear response to this query but when i leave APN as blank, it fails.

No. The APN tells the phone the address to use to get to the internet. Many phones will get the APN from the SIM card automatically, but with no APN entries at all - automatic or manual - the phone is good only for voice and text.
